Are you a staff member on any forum with IP tools?
Well take advance of that power to protect your computer from a spammer, they may also be a cracker and could be in your computer right now and you don't know it.
Well take advance of that power to protect your computer from a spammer, they may also be a cracker and could be in your computer right now and you don't know it.
A good way of helping to prevent this, is adding the banned IP's from all your banned members list to your firewall's list of blocked incoming connections.
I have provided a way of doing this in Windows firewall, as it is the best firewall in my opinion, PM me for a rant.
Anyway, here is how you add the banned IP's from your forum, to your Windows Firewall blocked list of incoming IP's connections in Windows 7, the same process may still apply in Vista and XP. And make sure your the computer's main Administrator or in a admin group as only they can edit the firewall.
Windows 7:
I like to open Windows Firewall in MMC (Microsoft Management Console) as it assures me that the settings will be applied.
Open Run and type in mmc and click ok and this will now show, also you should be asked to enter a Administrator password if not, open the start menu and type "mmc" and right-click on the MMC icon and click "Run as Administrator".

OK, now click on file and click on add/remove snap-in (snap-in's are like god mode tools, don't play around snap-in's if you don't about them!)
{Spoiler}
OK, now find "Windows Firewall with Advanced Security", highlight it and click on add, a pop-up will display: (click finish)

Local computer and click finish:

Now you will be taken back to the main console, you need to click on the little arrow and after that you will click on Windows Firewall With.....". Please look at the overview of the firewall state, you should have the domain, private and public profile firewall to "block inbound connections" and "allow outbound connections" the same as mine. If not, make it like mine and block incoming connections that don't match a rule on all profiles. Is you wish. Your overview will look something like this: (All images are now 1366x768)

Now scroll down until you see "View and create firewall rules, now click on "Inbound Rules" then click "New Rule" in the action pane and this will show:

OK now this is a simple process but if you get stuck, PM me
1. Custom Rule > Next
2. All programs > Next
3. If Protocol is any > Next, if not, make it any protocol.
4. This where you add the IP address to block them, you must add all the IP's to both boxes!!!!
{Spoiler}
Now, click on "These IP Addresses" and add the all the IP's in your banned members list, to prevent the IP from connecting to your computer. Hackers do use IP shifters by the way so watch out.
After adding all your IP's to BOTH boxes you can click "Next"
BLOCK THEM and click on next
Now make sure that you have all the profiles ticked and click next
Name it and give a description if you wish. Click finish and enable it after and hey, you just upped the security on your computer.
If your stuck ask me,a Pikachu for help, I know how to work MMC.
